How to Find the Best Birth Provider: One Essential Tip

As I was reading the book, Birth In Eight Cultures, I stopped and paused when I read this beautiful description of a midwife’s perception and interactions with her client during her birth. So, when picking a provider, THIS... THIS is my tip, look for THIS.

So, no matter where you birth (hospital, birth center, home) or how you birth (medicated or unmedicated, vaginal or caesarean), what always matters is how your provider and birth team perceive you, how they perceive birth, and how they perceive their role in your birth.
Aim high. Aim for THIS. Ask questions, use your gut and intuition, and ask around. There are mom groups, doulas, and other birth professionals who may share insight and experiences. However you invest your time, resources, and/or energy, I believe it is no doubt worth it!
